What You Need to Know About ChatGPT

The core of OpenAI's ChatGPT, which was created online in December 2022, is a simple artificial intelligence chatbot. It will respond to any questions you may ask it.

For instance, if you ask ChatGPT what it is, this is what it will tell you:

"ChatGPT is an AI language model developed by OpenAI, that is capable of generating human-like text based on the input it is given." The model is trained on a large corpus of text data and can generate responses to questions, summarize long texts, write stories, and much more. It is often used in conversational AI applications to simulate a human-like conversation with users. "

Is ChatGPT the first chatbot ever created?

You may be most familiar with chatbots through your interactions with any customer service representative over text, which is frequently a chatbot. Chatbots have been around for decades. The phrase "chatbot" is a crude reinterpretation of the far more humorous "ChatterBot," which Michael Mauldin first used in 1994. (Opens in a new window). But from Maultin's development of Verbot to OpenAI's ChatGPT, chatbots have come a long way.

Do all chatbots employ AI technology?

Not all chatbots use AI the way ChatGPT does. Some chatbots just generate responses using keywords, which may or may not be helpful. For instance, if you inform a non-AI chatbot that a parcel was tagged as delivered but you haven't received it, it can advise you to check the front door (annoying). Some other chatbots, such as ChatGPT, use a rather complex AI. I have spoken to it about how to construct an automobile.

Is ChatGPT still operational?

Joe Rogen, who admitted to having never used ChatGPT, compared it to Ava, the AI robot in the 2014 science fiction film Ex Machina (Opens in a new window). "Ava is not ChatGPT," he said.

It is intellectual, though. The Turing test, which measures whether a machine can behave in ways akin to those of a person, has not been applied to ChatGPT in its entirety. However, some academics believe that the test has been passed. If you inquire as to ChatGPT's life status, it replies: "No, I'm not alive." I am an OpenAI language model for artificial intelligence; I am not conscious or emotional. "I'm just a piece of software made to react to text inputs and produce results based on patterns in the data I was trained on."

How do I leverage ChatGPT?

The simplest response of them all, I see. Simply launch your browser and navigate to chat.openai.com (opens in a new window). After creating an account, you'll be immediately connected. Although the application is free to use initially, a paid version is being implemented. There are classes available if you wish to improve your tool usage.
